Both programs will recognize the phones, but I just can't upload or download.at least not to the BREW folder. If that's the case, then why can I access the phone through that data cable?Īctually, I can access the file view on both BitPim and QPST. UTStarcom's customer service tells me that there is NO cable and/or software to transfer data to and from the phone, and that the plug-in port at the bottom of that phone is only for another charging cable and NOT for a data cable. Ntelos customer service tells me that this is a problem with the phone itself and referred me to UTStarcom.

I have 3 of the Audiovox/UTStarcom CDM8915 phones on a family calling plan, with Ntelos as our carrier.īought the USB cable, got BitPim and QPST, and the drivers, and have been trying for about a week now to figure out how to download photos from, and upload wallpaper to those phones.īitPim tells me that the Brew folder (where the photos are stored under "shared/jpeg".see attachment "QPSTscreen1.JPG") is locked,Įrror Code (8197):Unknown Error (see attachment "QPSTscreen2.JPG") QPST is similar, but requires the entry of the 8915VMs MSL code in the field asking for the SPC. You can either copy them over one at a time, or right click the folder to copy over the entire folder as a zip file.ĭO NOT DELETE PICTURES WITH ANY SOFTWARE. In one of the folders there should be a camera folder, in which the pictures should be. In BitPim, go to the filesystem tab, and click the +. (PC Sync has that ability, but most carrier branded 8910 firmware has it blocked, and I bet the 8915 is the same)Īfter all the installs and a reboot, connect the phone.

BitPim: QPST: (search forum and elsewhere, because it's often moved around )Īfter installing PC Sync and its drivers, you should be able to use it to edit/backup calendar/messages/contacts, but after you then install BitPim and/or QPST, you can copy over pictures to your PC.
